As a Final Project of the Master in Musical Arts at FCSH at Universidade Nova de Lisboa, Pedro was working on three manuscripts by the Portuguese composer José Lopes e Silva who died in 2019. The manuscripts date between 1972 and 1984. The objective was to study the writing of the composer. Meanwhile, the possibility arose of holding a concert with the three pieces under study and this was where Pedro asked for my collaboration. In one of the pieces, “Nocturnal”, the composer asked for the presence of a choreographic expression of a dancer. In the score there are no other references to dance, and therefore, within the composer’s improvisatory imagination, the choreography would be free and improvised.
