“The José Saramago Library, located on campus 2 of the Polytechnic of Leiria, is the stage of an artistic residency promoted by dancer Inesa Markava.

“Imaginary Library – Dance at the Heritage” is built in a “personal and artistic” way, in an “interarts dynamic, through non-verbal language of the body in movement, object dramaturgy and sound-musical component, exploring the library’s architectural space ”, the residency seeks to develop a performative project that promotes the narrowing of ties between the academic community and the civil community to achieve this goal, …”

“Inesa Markava presents an interactive choreography open to all age groups, as well as “subtle and silent” artistic moments, which aim to “involve interested students in a moment of pause and a small movement adventure.”

Lasting between twenty and thirty minutes, the performances focus on elements related to the scale, history and spirit of the library, including the poetic side of reading.
In addition, through this artistic creation, library visitors have the opportunity to discover the space in a “new way, diving into the universe of associations and approximations” that awaken in the individual imagination of each one.”
